Born in Cairo, Egypt, a daughter of the late Abraham and Sonia (Cohen) Hakim, she had lived in Maryland for 27 years, before moving to North Kingstown 24 years ago. She was a teacher in Cairo and a substitute teacher in the United States. She was a past president and life member of the Charles River Chapter of Hadassah, where she was Woman of the Year in 1979. She was an avid knitter, calligrapher, needlepointer, embroiderer and painter. She was the mother of Albertina Tina Warren and her husband Jerald of East Greenwich, Sonia Lansberg of Fullerton, Calif., and Helene Rudowsky of Hampton Falls, N.H. She was the grandmother of Rachel and Robbie. Contributions may be made to Hadassah.\" |
