Obituary Archive of the Rhode Island Jewish Historical Association;;The Funeral of Cantor Leon Schlossberg, one of the foremost Jewish singers in the country, and the father of Joseph Schlossberg, cantor of Temple Beth Israel of this city was held yesterday afternoon at 2 o Clock with services at both his home and the synagogue. Rabbi Morris Schusshedm of Temple Beth Israel conducted the services at the house, of Cantor Schlossberg. The services at the olms Street Synagogue were in Charge of Rabbi United States. Rubentein. Cantor H. Smith Gendered solos and memorial. singing. The body was taken to Lincoln Park Cemetery for burial in a plot given by the members of the Jewish congregation. About 300 persons were in the funeral procession. Cantor Schlossberg died Sept 6 at Seattle, Wash., immediately following of a paralytic stroke. His wife, who was companying him, took charge of the body and had it shipped to New York, from where it came here Cantor Schlossberg was known both here and abroad as the Jewish Caruso. He had sung in the leading cities of Europe and America. He is survived by his wife eight sons.\"
