Obituary Archive of the Rhode Island Jewish Historical Association;;PROVIDENCE- Erich Schafranik, 68, of 130 Slater Ave., a self-employed consulting engineer and former instructor at Brown University and Rhode Island School of Design, died Tuesday at home. He was the husband of Clara (Brodesky) Schafranik. A graduate of the Teachnical Institute, Vienna, Austria, Mr. Schafranik also taught engineering at Brown university from 1958 to 1968 and Rhode Island School of Design for one year . Born In Vienna, he was the son of Mrs. Lola (Spiegel) Schafranik of Providence and the late Heinrich Schafranik. He had been resident of Providence for the last 43 years. A Funeral service will be held today at noon at the Mount Sinail Memorial Chapel, 825 Hope St. Burial will be in Lincoln Park Cemetery, Warwick.\"
